This edition with Edna O'Brien in conversation with Tobias Wolff was directed by Dan Griggs on 12th May 1998. O'Brien reads from her stories 'Brother' and 'Down by the River'. November | Wednesday 6 | 6.30 pm – 7.30 pm | An Evening with Donal Ryan Award winning author Donal Ryan will read from his new book Heart, be at Peace and talk about his craft and inspirations. Donal has won numerous awards for his fiction, among them the European Union Prize for Literature, the Guardian First Book Award and four Irish Book Awards and has been shortlisted for several more, including the Costa Book Award and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. In 2021 he became the first Irish writer to be awarded the Jean-Monnet Prize for European Literature. His debut novel, The Spinning Heart, was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2013.
