You know the moves but now want to take your chess to the next level. Chess theory for advanced players is a theory focused discussion session lead by a competent volunteer. March| Tuesday 26th |11 am -12.30 pm | New Book club. Compare and contrast, discuss, identify, and support your conclusions in a relaxed social circle of like-minded book readers, which covers the everything from the latest and greatest to the oldest of classics. No page left unturned in the bookclub. March| Saturdays | 11.30 pm - 12.30 pm | Kids Hour An interactive hour on Saturday morning dedicated to childrens free play with available games such as Lego, Chess and puzzles. April | Wednesdays | 10.15 am - 11.15 am | Walking Group A refreshing walk around the local Glanmire area. A nice opportunity to meet new people from the community and to meet your local staff. April | Wednesday 5th | 10.30 am - 12.30 pm | Active Retirement The Glanmire branch of the A.R. organisation, run by voluntary committees with all the activities are aimed at keeping older people active and well. Active Retirement Associations are a lifeline for many older people who would otherwise feel isolated and lonely. April | Friday 12 | 2:30 pm | Talk on The Book Of Kells As part of the Life Long learning festival, Glanmire is delighted to welcome author Donncha MacGhann for a knowledgeable talk on his recent publication. Donncha has been engaged in the study of Insular manuscripts and the Book of Kells for the past fifteen years and is dedicated to communicating this research both to the academic and the wider community. April | Tuesday 16th | 11.00 am - 12.00 pm | Music Morning A selection of musical numbers selected by a knowledgeable presenter from Corks Gramaphone circle group.
