April | Wednesday 10 | 3.30 pm - 4.30 pm & 4.30 pm – 5.30 pm | Bike Repair Workshop In this one-hour workshop (run twice to keep class sizes low), you’ll learn how to check that your bike is safe to cycle and in good working order. You’ll learn basic bike repairs and adjustments. Find out more about the ‘bike to work scheme’ and buying an electric bike. All equipment provided, however, feel free to bring your own bike! April | Saturday 13 | 3.30 pm - 4.30 pm | Tuckey Street’s Forgotten Library. A lecture by Dr. Mairéad Mooney 2024 marks the centenary of the opening of a temporary public library on Tuckey Street, after the Carnegie Library on Anglesea Street was destroyed in the Burning of Cork four years earlier. Hear about this forgotten library which served Cork City’s readers until the Grand Parade branch opened in 1930, with a focus on books provided for children and young readers. As part of the Lifelong Learning Programme.
